Seasonless Fashion with Genia Evelina

Genia De Marco, the creative force behind 'Genia Evelina', artfully infuses her designs with whimsical silhouettes, intricate floral lace, and the richness of natural fabrics. Drawing inspiration from a myriad of narratives, including mythologies and tales, her creations emanate an ethereal softness, reminiscent of cherished memories and the enchanting allure of southern Italy's charm.

Designers, like her, have shifted their focus towards sustainability, comfort, and quality, crafting seasonless collections that challenge the conventions of traditional fashion seasons.

In this feature article, we delve into Genia's eponymous label, exploring the inspiration behind her meticulous cut and fabric selection.

Genia's creations, deeply connected to her southern Italian roots, exude a feminine, romantic, and whimsical essence. The styles and fabric choices draw inspiration from her nonna’s apartment — a warm rococo inspired home featuring marble embellishments, chandelier lighting, and ornate furniture.

“Imagining the world in which the collection would live and trying to evoke an emotion through the clothing.”

The brand's latest Heirloom Spring Edit blossomed from the core patterns of the original seasonless Heirloom collection. The edit offers new joyful and seasonally appropriate cuts, available in a mix of print and colour.

Genia is conscientious about her fabric selections, prioritizing sustainability and considering their environmental footprint.

The Spring Edit is crafted almost entirely from locally-sourced deadstock fabric, rendering the collection more eco-friendly by utilizing materials that would otherwise go to waste. Through the use of deadstock fabric, the pieces are not only sustainable but also more affordable for clients.

The sand and black deadstock colourways are made from 100% Tencel lyocell twill, a soft and sustainable fabric derived from regenerated cellulose. Tencel is recognized for its involvement in a closed-loop process, wherein the solvent used in production is recaptured and reused, resulting in minimal by-product creation.

The "primavera" colourway showcases a bold floral print reminiscent of floral dresses worn to special occasions during childhood.

With comfort at the forefront of her designs, Genia crafts garments that are both wearable and practical for everyday use. Each piece is made-to-order and can be adjusted for a perfect fit, catering to those who fall between sizes.
